Worship is a creative expression of Jesus’ love for us and our love for him. It’s an opportunity for us to put the rest of the world aside for a moment and to recharge in the presence of the God who loves us. We hope that through worship you will have a deeper understanding of God and who God created you to be!
Sunday Worship Services
Praise Service @ 9:00am
Start your week off with an uplifting celebration of praise! Our 9am Praise Service features music led by the Heaven’s Sake Band, creative liturgy, passionate preaching, and a come-as-you-are atmosphere. Our children’s Sunday School, for VPK through 5th grade, takes place during this service, right after the children’s moment. Check in your child in the Sanctuary lobby when you arrive. For children age 0 to 4, our nursery is open to care for little ones while parents worship. Families with young children can also enjoy our “wiggle room” adjacent to the Sanctuary lobby.
Traditional Service @ 11:00am
Worship God through timeless hymns, familiar liturgy, and passionate preaching. Music is led by our Chancel Choir with our pipe organ, grand piano, and handbells. Children will receive a children’s bulletin and are invited to join the pastor for the children’s moment. Our nursery is open to care for little ones while parents worship. Families with young children can also enjoy our “wiggle room” adjacent to the Sanctuary lobby.
About Communion
Communion is one of two sacraments practiced in the United Methodist Church. When we share together in Communion, we remember the unconditional and sacrificial love of Jesus, and we receive the very real grace of God at work in our lives today. Communion is a means of grace; a tangible way God pours out God’s grace in our lives.
At Plantation UMC, we celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of every month in all services. Communion at our church, and in all United Methodist churches, is open to all who seek to follow Jesus, regardless of your age, background, and church membership. People from other denominations and people with no church background are all welcome at the table. There is no minimum age either. Children of all ages are welcome to share in Communion!
If you worship with us online, you may use any bread or cracker with any juice or drink to represent the elements for you in your home.
About Baptism
Baptism is one of two sacraments practiced in the United Methodist Church. Through Baptism, we give thanks for God’s grace actively working in the person’s life, and we experience the joy of new life offered to us through Jesus Christ. We are also initiated into the Church universal, and incorporated into our local church, Plantation UMC. After baptism, children become “Baptized Members” and teens/adults become “Full Members” of our church.
When an infant or child is baptized, we welcome them into the church and the church in turn promises to surround the family with love, support, and care. Therefore, we strongly encourage families considering baptizing their child to worship with us and get connected, so we can all faithfully live out our baptismal vows!
